See you tomorrow at The Grant!

We are all set to see our first round of the Fall Foliage racers at the Grant tomorrow. You are all in for a real treat. The trails are in excellent condition and we should see some fast times on foot and by bike!

The trails have been tweaked slightly due to construction. A much improved route along the gas line has been added for the 5K route but a little distance has been added. The 5K is now 3.9 miles but the added distance through the pine forest is well worth it. GPS track can be found here. The 10K is 6.8 miles. For the bikers, Newbies will be doing 1 loop, Weekend Warriors 2 loops, and Experts 3 loops. GPS track can be found here. We will be running the course counter-clockwise.

Chef Bonnie will be serving food starting at 11 am. The Old Bust Head keg will be tapped at 11am also. First beer is free and you can buy additional beer tickets for $2 from the registration tent.

Make sure you have sunscreen and water to run and ride with. We will have one aid station out on the course. It is going to be a beautiful end of summer day.

To get you closer to the trailhead, use Homestead Landing Ct., Ashburn, VA 20148 in your GPS. (This may not work in older GPS units if the maps have not been updated.) The homes along Homestead Landing Court are now occupied, so please don’t block any driveways when you park. If there are no spaces on Homestead Landing Ct, please park on Everfield Drive.

Packet pick-up starts at 8:30 am. The trail runs start at 10 am and bike racers start at 12:30 pm See you then!
